Donations for recovery of the paediatric ward of hospital “Sveti Mina”

Rotaract of Plovdiv organises a Christmas bazaar on 17.12 (in front of the Town Hall) and then on 19,20,21,22/12 (in front of the central post office building). All funds collected will be donated for the renewal of he paediatric ward of hospital “Sveti Mina”. As is usual, all RCs of Plovdiv will support this initiative. We look forward to all members to donate/support.

For those who requested more details (source: “Programs and Projects” department at the medical institution – Maria Kumanova, while the hospital is managed by Plovdiv Prof. Petar Petrov), this donation is part of a number of initiatives:

  • The aim is to replace the old furniture of the ward with new ones. It is necessary to purchase new equipment, beds, medical lockers, tables and chairs for the rooms, and to lay a new antibacterial flooring. The ward has a total of 48 beds, 20 of which are for replacement. Three are for intensive care and the other 17 are therapeutic. The walls are with fallen plaster, wasted and scratched. The beds have amortized mattresses and there are no necessary lockers and wardrobes for children to store their personal belongings. There are no bells for the parents to signal the doctor and the on-duty staff in case of urgent need for help, and a large part of the lighting fixtures also need to be replaced.
  • A study has already been done on the cost of the most necessary things that the Paediatric Department needs. Not less than BGN 100.000 will be needed.
