Dear fellow Rotarians,
As president of Rotary Club Plovdiv International (D2482) I would like to inform you about the Rotary Disaster Response Grant for Ukraine and in particular how your Rotary District could join this effort by submitting a $25000 Rotary Disaster Response Grant request to support Ukrainian refugee shelters.
In the past few weeks we have been working together with Mrs Oksana Tiupa, Chairman of the Board of Rotary Club Kyiv International, and we have prepared all required documents for a Rotary District to submit such grant request.
9,5 million dollar are still available for this till the end of 2022, and as Rotary District you can apply several times still this year.
I clarify hereby also the steps to follow if you are positive to our suggestion:
- We selected a project (we propose you a shelter project) as documented in the already prepared application file, and as Rotary District you need to send the finalised application to the grant manager at grants@rotary.org
- You get a response (this should happen very quickly) and fill-in the OFAC form (together with Rotary Club Kyiv International, demo template available)
- Your Rotary District receives the money.
- Your Rotary District signs an MOU with Rotary Club Kyiv International (template available).
- Your Rotary District transfers the money to Rotary Club Kyiv International
- Rotary Club Kyiv International carries out the project and reports on the work done, and provides all evidence (invoices, receipts, bank transfer proofs, etc.).
- If successful, your Rotary District can apply for a new Disaster Grant (as Rotary District you can apply several times for 25,000 USD until 31/12/2022)
I trust that in the spirit of humanity and fellow Rotarian support, Rotary Districs will agree to the urgency of this request. I hope for a positive reply on the Districts’ behalf and on a positive completion of the grant requests the soonest possible so that help can arrive within weeks in Ukraine.
Both clubs (Rotary Club Plovdiv International and Rotary Club Kyiv International) will be more than willing to support you through the whole process. The most important thing is that we can act fast due to the urgency in this matter.
