Rotary stands against antisemitism

On the nights of 9 and 10 November 1938, Nazi-led mobs unleashed coordinated violence across Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia. Jewish homes were ransacked, businesses destroyed, and synagogues burned to the ground in what became known as Kristallnacht, the “Night of Broken Glass.” The streets glittered with shattered windows, reflecting the devastation of lives and communities torn apart by hatred.

This atrocity marked a tragic turning point — the beginning of the Holocaust and the systematic murder of six million Jews.

As Rotarians, we honour the memory of those lost and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to peace, human dignity, and understanding among all people. Through service, education, and dialogue, we continue to stand against intolerance and ensure that such darkness never falls upon humanity again.
